A Perfect Spring Day in Kochi: Private Tour Highlights

April 16, 2025 – What a beautiful spring day to explore Kochi with an amazing group of travelers!

Our day began with a visit to Kochi Castle, one of Japan’s best-preserved original castles. The spring weather was absolutely perfect – clear blue skies and comfortable temperatures.

The commemorative date markers at the castle made for great photo opportunities – a wonderful way to remember this special day!

The group was fascinated by the historical exhibits inside the castle. Walking through the same halls that samurai once walked through centuries ago never gets old!

We took our time wandering through the castle grounds, enjoying the fresh spring greenery and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Hirome Market – The Heart of Kochi 🍺🐟

Then came the highlight many guests wait for – Bonito Tataki at Hirome Market!

The freshly seared bonito, flame-grilled over straw, was a huge hit. Watching their faces light up with that first bite – priceless! The perfect combination of smoky exterior and rare, tender inside, served simply with salt and garlic.

Paired with local beer in the lively, communal atmosphere of Hirome Market, it’s the authentic Kochi experience.

Katsurahama Beach & Ocean Views 🌊

After lunch, we headed to Katsurahama Beach to enjoy the magnificent Pacific Ocean views.

We also visited the Ryugu Shrine, a beautiful red shrine overlooking the sea, where we offered prayers for safe travels.
