"Excellent tour guide & driver for our small group Cruise ship day tour of Kochi"
We had a wonderful day with Hiroshi. He is an amazing guide and driver with excellent communication skills. He made suggestions to create wonderful itinerary based on our desired sights to see and getting us back to the cruise ship terminal on time. He is very kind, patient and imparted lots of cultural history & knowledge to us throughout our tour. He made excellent suggestions for our request for a traditional Kochi Japanese lunch and it was delicious. The comfortable air-conditioned car was a very welcomed respite in between driving to the various sites. He provided water and umbrellas for our use which was really appreciated. Hiroshi also took many lovely photos of us throughout the tour so my husband and I look like we are on vacation together! I would highly recommend taking any tour with Hiroshi and we certainly will if we are lucky enough to come back to the beautiful Kochi. Thanks Hiroshi :)))

Great experience from start to end. Hiroshi is an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and kind making the experience very unique. He took beautiful pictures during the tour and shared them with us afterwards. The communication before, during and after the tour was excellent. If I could, I'd give him a higher rate! “I have never seen anything like this”
We had an excellent time at the festival. The walking was great. It was not a problem. There is plenty of shopping to do. And the festival was awesome to see. It was amazing to see all the dancers, putting so much hard work into their routines. I have never seen anything like this. Hiroshi is an excellent tour guide and is very knowledgeable.

“Away from the city. You get to see the real beauty of this country.”
Hiroshi is a fantastic guide with a great knowledge of his home land. We went up into the Yasui valley and explored the Hiryu falls, Crystal basin and Sabine dam with the beautiful blue water streams. On our way back to the ship we stopped at a small country restaurant for some traditional Japanese lunch. Then Hiroshi took us to another little seaside restaurant to try the local delicacy of seared bonito. It was amazing, despite our reservations. It is so good to have local food and experiences when you have a guide to translate and assist you. Hiroshi has a great Toyota van that is very clean and comfortable. He was punctual and mindful of getting us back to the ship. Hiroshi is a keen photographer and gave us many photos of our experiences with him on the day. Make sure you book early so you don’t miss out on this kind and amazing guide in Kochi.

"Possibly the best tour so far, and we have done many"
Hiroshi was amazing. Great communication before the tour started. The car was ready with air conditioning on, which given how hot it was was extremely welcome. Kochi is a beautiful place and Hiroshi was suitably proud of it.
The first stop was a hidden away samurai house that we would not have found on our own. We had a 16 year old in tow, who was struggling with the heat, but Hiroshi won him around with a certain prop at the house (I won't say what, as I don't want to spoil the surprise).
Next was Kochi Castle. It was a long climb up but so worth it, and everyone was very patient with the very unfit me getting up there.
Then to lunch and shopping, both superb, and again Hiroshi was so patient and helpful, knowing exactly where we should go for what we wanted.
Finally, a temple on top of a mountain. It was incredible.
I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Possibly the best tour so far, and we have done many.

First-Class Comfort: The car was pristine with ice-cold A/C, a speaker so everyone could hear, and he even brought a camera along to capture our memories.

Expertly Tailored: He was incredibly accommodating, guiding us to the best eats at the fish market, shifting our itinerary to show us amazing hidden gems, and even preparing a special presentation to share the deep history of one of the sites.

Fantastic Vibe: Beyond his incredible professionalism, Hiroshi has a wonderful personality and is just an awesome guy to hang out with. He knows the island inside and out.

Hiroshi was an absolute joy to spend the day with. He took us all around to the best spots - even with the downpour! - and made sure we had fun. He has a great demeanor and knows all about the history of Japan and did a good job of sharing with us. And he took us to a GREAT lunch spot! The car was clean and comfortable, and Hiroshi was a safe driver.

Not only did we get to explore Kochi, learn about its history, and make Japanese paper (one of the highlights of our trip), we unexpectedly received dozens of photos of our day in Kochi from Hiroshi at the end of the day that are absolutely fantastic. Car: very spacious and clean minivan
English: best of our trip (Hiroshi learned in the US)
Kids: he has young kids of his own so he was very engaging for my 10 year old and told stories and asked questions that I don't think are part of his regular tour. It was really nice.
Accessibility: my husband uses a foldable mobility scooter that fit easily into the trunk of the car. He took us to several accessible places, and directed us to ramps and elevators

Overall we highly recommend.

"Hidden gem"
We had a wonderful day with Hiroshi san. Our group of 5 was diverse; 2 seniors, 2 middle aged and 1 young person; everyone had fun, learned a lot and felt welcomed by Hiroshi san. Highly recommend to anyone if you are stopping in Kochi.

I cannot recommend Hiroshi more highly. His local knowledge of Kochi allowed us to see and do things we would not have been able to do on our own. We had a wonderful day in Kochi.

"Great Day in Kochi"
We had booked the Kochi Highlights Tour with Hiroshi during our Diamond Princess cruise stop in Kochi. We had a full day starting with Kochi Castle, lunch at Hirome Market, strolling through the Obiyamachi shopping arcade, visiting the Chikurinji Temple and finishing with the Makino Botanical Garden. We had a wonderful day exploring the highlights of Kochi and were well taken care of by a local expert. Hiroshi was knowledgeable, attentive and patient, he introduced us to local dishes and the Konatsu fruit and took care in ensuring that my partner was able to enjoy a vegan meal at Hirome Market. We also made short stops at a local grocery store to pick up Inaka-zushi, countryside sushi, and at a gift shop that sold locally produced products. On top of all this, Hiroshi took amazing photos of us and provided a photographic perspective that on our own we would not be able to capture. We had a great memorable day and look forward to booking another tour with Hiroshi the next time we are in Kochi!

"A dream came true"
It has always been a dream of my father's to go to Tsuno Town, a small village in Kochi with about 5 thousand people, where his ancestors came from before immigrating. Since it's a place only accessible by car, we were searching options to take us there from Kochi and found Hiroshi-san's personalized tour. It couldn't have been a better experience. He is a gentle soul, safe driver and absolutely in love with Kochi itself. After paying respects in the grave of our ancestors, he showed us some beautiful sights of Kochi and took us to have lunch where we could experience local cuisine and buy plenty of souvenirs. Hiroshi-san speaks very good English and is extremely friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better guide! Thank you for helping us make this dream come true, me and my family will definitely come back to stay longer next time!

"Amazing Tour Guide & Photographer in Kochi"
We had a wonderful experience touring Kochi with Hiroshi as our guide. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and easy to spend the day with, making our visit feel relaxed, enjoyable, and thoughtfully planned. One of the highlights of our tour was Makino Botanical Garden, which was an amazing experience and absolutely worth visiting. One member of our group had mobility challenges, and Hiroshi was very considerate in arranging the visit so that everyone in our party could see and enjoy the garden comfortably. His care and attention made a real difference in allowing the whole group to fully participate. Hiroshi also recommended a great restaurant that everyone enjoyed, which was especially impressive given the different preferences within our group. We also visited Kochi Castle, and throughout the day Hiroshi helped us capture wonderful memories. He took amazing photos of our group and later provided us with a link to enjoy them all, which was truly priceless and such a thoughtful extra touch. For anyone looking to see Kochi in a more personal and customized way, especially within a shorter amount of time, having Hiroshi as a guide is well worth it. It allowed us to enjoy the sights at our own pace without feeling rushed or crowded, which made the day much more meaningful than a large cruise ship or bus tour.

We explored the Niyodo River with Hiroshi. He took us to beautiful locations. He is very knowledgable about Kochi and Japan history. He is a very nice person and we highly recommend him.
