"Excellent guide in Kochi"
This was by far one of the best tours we ever had! Hiroshi drove us around in a luxury vehicle! He also changed the original schedule to better suit our interests. We did some things we normally never would have done: we made our own paper, we ate Kochi-style tuna seared over a straw fire, and visited a botanical garden in the mountains. From Jan and Korina
Hiroshi M.: Jan and Korina, thank you so much for this wonderful review! It really means a lot to me. Hearing that you got to experience things you would not have found on your own makes me really happy. That kind of flexibility is what I love most about private tours, and I am always happy to show guests the places and people that only local guide knows. I hope to welcome you back to Kochi someday! "Amazing drive and walk along the Niyodo Blue River."
We had a very enjoyable day with our Guide - Hiroshi. Our best English speaking guide to date. We could communicate very well so a huge thank you because it is not always easy to understand each other all the time. Our stop at the Nagoya Chinkabashi bridge over the Niyodo River was a nice stop for the scenery and exercise walking across the river. Driving through the countryside with the beautiful cherry blossoms along the beautiful blue water river in the Yasui Valley which was very scenic and thrilling to see all the fresh water gushing on its way down the stream. We enjoyed some Kochi made ice creams after our walk along the beautiful river. The drinking water in the cafe was so good as was the ice cream! Later we had lunch at Hareta in Tosa City where we tried katsu-don and shogayaki-don and thoroughly enjoyed the local food. And at the end of the day we saw the cherry blossoms at the shrine in Hiroshi's hometown of Usa, Tosa City. We would highly recommend Hiroshi and his very comfortable Toyota van for anyone who wanted a great tour guide and a very interesting day visiting Japan's most beautiful river. Thank you. Susie, Rob, Hugh and Jilly / Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia.
Hiroshi M.: Dear Susie, Rob, Hugh, and Jilly, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure to meet you all and spend the day exploring my beautiful home prefecture together. The Niyodo Blue is special, but seeing it paired with the cherry blossoms in the Yasui Valley—and finally at the shrine in my hometown of Usa—made it a truly spectacular day for me as well. I'm also glad you enjoyed the local food and even the water! Kochi's nature provides us with so many gifts, and I love sharing them with my guests. Thank you for choosing my tour and for your kind recommendation. Please come back to Kochi again someday! Best regards, Hiroshi

"An amazing trip to Ino and the Yasui Valley"
Hiroshi met me at the Kochi Bus Terminal and off we went to our first stop, the Ino-cho Paper Museum. It's an amazing museum, full of information about the history of the manufacturing of washi paper. It has a wonderful workshop where visitors can make their own washi paper using traditional methods. We then visited the Yasui Valley, following the Niyodo River. The river is amazing and Hiroshi timed our visit such that we were able to see the clear blue water that the river is famous for. The mountains were beautiful, and I learned much about the produce the area is famous for, Tosa tea. Back to Kochi, with a quick stop at Kochi Castle, and then Hirome market where we had Katsuo Tataki, seared skipjack tuna, and the best gyozas I have ever had. We ended the day wandering Kochi's shopping street, visiting a small tea shop which has been operating for three generations. If you are ever in Kochi, Hiroshi is an excellent guide. He knows the area well, being local, and is able to tailor your tour to fit your interests.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind review! I truly enjoyed our day together. The weather was perfect that day and the Niyodo Blue looked absolutely stunning. It was a pleasure to share not just the famous sights, but also the local flavors and the stories of the people who make Kochi so special. I'm so glad you enjoyed the interaction at the tea shop and, of course, the gyozas! You are welcome back to Kochi anytime, and I hope our paths cross again in the future. Best regards, Hiroshi

"Wonderful day despite the rain"
Knowledgeable and personable guide gave us a great overview of Kochi in a comfy van. Well timed tour gave us enough time to enjoy each activity. Hiroshi organized lunch for us at the Hirome Market, adventurous but not overly so! Definitely recommend him.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your kind review, and I'm really glad you enjoyed the day despite the rain! It was a pleasure showing you around Kochi. I'm happy the pace worked well for your group, and you enjoyed my food picks at Hirome Market. Please enjoy the rest of your time in Japan! Best Regards, Hiroshi

"Above and beyond"
Hiroshi went the extra mile to make our private tour special. I had a special request which was intended to be a surprise and he brought in additional help to accommodate. 5 isn't enough stars.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you very much for your generous review. It was a true honor to be your guide for the Kochi Castle tour. As a local guide, my greatest reward is ensuring that my guests feel truly glad they chose to visit Kochi and Japan. Your kind words, "above and beyond," mean a lot to me, as that is always my goal for every guest I meet. I hope the rest of your journey in Kochi and Japan is just as wonderful. You are always welcome back to Kochi! Warmest regards, Hiroshi

“A Perfect Day and Tour of Kochi”
Hiroshi provided us with truly excellent guide service during our Japan cruise stop in Kochi. He was waiting for us in the cruise port terminal to drive us and guide us through a perfect itinerary including the fascinating and picturesque Chikurinji Temple and five-story pagoda, the world-class Makino Botanical Gardens, a lunch of local delicacies in Hirome Market, and the famous Kochi Castle History Museum and climb to the Keep of Kochi Castle! Hiroshi's command of English and clear pronunciations was a relief to us. And we were delighted to discover that he is an excellent photographer so he captured many wonderful digital memories for us throughout the day. If you're going to Kochi and want a professional tour guide, then Hiroshi is your man!
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your kind and generous review! It really made my day. I'm so happy that you enjoyed Chikurinji Temple, Makino Botanical Garden, Hirome Market, and Kochi Castle. Even with the rain in the morning, you both embraced everything with such a wonderful spirit. That made the day truly special for me as well. I also appreciate your kind words about my English and photography. Taking photos for my guests is one of my favorite parts of the job, so I'm really glad the pictures became good memories for you. Your advice and story about guiding during the tour was something I will always remember. Thank you for sharing that with me. I hope our paths cross again someday! With warm regards, Hiroshi

“Wonderful day with Hiroshi”
We enjoyed a wonderful day with Hiroshi while we were in Kochi, Japan. He met us with a very luxurious van that could easily accommodate us comfortably, and we had it all to ourselves. We began the day with a tour of the botanical garden, which was outstanding. If you're visiting Japan in the spring, you want to visit this place — just magnificent (and I'm not a flower guy). Spectacular views looking at the city. He then took us to an original samurai house, which is definitely off the beaten path and a place where tour buses do not go. He even brought along his samurai sword, allowing us to take pictures with different poses. We then visited Kochi Castle. My knees are not so good, so he took us on the sloping path, rather than attempt the stairs. He could not have been more accommodating all day. Highly recommend choosing Hiroshi for any of his tours.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! It means a lot to me that you enjoyed the day. The botanical garden was especially beautiful that morning — the south garden had just reopened after a renovation, and we were there on the very first day. Perfect timing. The samurai house is one of those places I always love to include. It is quiet, it is real, and it is the kind of experience you simply cannot find on a group bus tour. For guests with knee concerns or mobility needs, I always plan the route carefully. Kochi Castle has both stairs and a slope, and I make sure we choose the right path from the start. Everyone deserves to enjoy the castle comfortably. I design every tour around my guests — their pace, their interests, and what makes the day feel special for them. That is what private guiding is all about. To be honest, I had a wonderful time too. You were such warm and kind people, and days like this remind me how much I love my work. I hope to welcome you back to Kochi someday. Hiroshi

We had a great day at Kochi with Hiroshi. He made sure we got a well balanced itinerary even for a short time - we got nature, food and culture! He is very accommodating and drives safely. And the bonus part was he is a great photographer. He took amazing photos documenting our trip well. We are highly recommending him for a great day at Kochi!
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed the day — nature, food, and culture in just one day is always my goal for cruise guests with limited time. It was a pleasure spending the day with your group. I hope the photos bring back good memories of Kochi! I look forward to welcoming you back someday. Hiroshi

"Absolutely Fun & Fascinating Day"
According to our requests and with efficient communication, Hiroshi-san created an amazing custom tour with visits to local producers in his hometown. It was truly a rare chance to experience and learn about local crafts, food and culture that would not be possible on our own. He patiently translated and answered our questions. He also chose a delicious, small, local place for lunch. As driver, guide and translator, Hiroshi-san made it very easy for us by taking us to and from our hotel in his comfortable van. Throughout the day, he also captured great photos which he shared via a link. These are a wonderful souvenir of a fantastic day. Highly recommend!

"Hiroshi is a miracle worker!!"
There is not enough words to describe how amazing of a time my wife and I had with Hiroshi. The two days with Hiroshi were the highlight of our entire 20-day Japan trip! We based most of our trip on Pokemon, and Kochi's Ambassador Pokemon is my wife's favorite - Quagsire. Hiroshi did SOOOOO much more than just guide us! He was enthusiastic, patient, and quick responding. He truly knows and LOVES Kochi and that energy brushed off onto us. He made our trip an once in a life time experience.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for this incredible review. Reading it honestly made my day (and probably my whole month). I'm truly grateful you chose me for such a special Nuoh mission in Kochi and I'm so happy those two days became a highlight of your 20-day Japan trip. For me, just having guests come to Kochi already means a lot so I always want to do everything I can to help them enjoy it. Thank you again. Please give my best to your wife! If you ever come back, I'd love to show you even more of Kochi. All the best, Hiroshi

"The best guide I have had so far"
We are a group of 6 Brazilians. Kochi surprised us. A welcoming and beautiful city. And the guide Hiroshi san took us to the best places, giving us valuable guidance. He showed us places and details that probably many other tourists missed. And to end the perfect tour, we enjoyed typical Kochi dishes (bonito fish and the best gyoza I've ever tasted). Hiroshi san, we are grateful for the incredible day you provided us.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your wonderful review — "the best guide I have had so far" is truly the highest compliment I could receive! "Beautiful Kochi with Hiro"
Kochi is a beautiful city in Japan and Hiro was an excellent guide who spoke of his hometown with great knowledge. As a welcome bonus, he came with a D-SLR camera and took excellent photos of our group in the different settings, then he shared them with us afterwards. He even summarized our tour so we wouldn't forget the spots we visited with him. It was wonderful to experience Kochi with Hiro & I highly recommend him to anyone.

"Great Guide"
We were with Hiroshi for our 5-day trip to Kochi. He's a wonderful person and became a great friend in this time. He managed to understand exactly what kind of spots we were interested in and made a personalized itinerary. The best part was being able to visit secret spots that only locals go to.
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your warm review. It was a true pleasure spending five days with you! I really enjoyed getting to know you and your wife and tailoring each day to your interests. Hearing that the personalized tour showed you the "real" local spots — the small eateries, sake places, and neighborhood pastimes — makes me very happy. Thank you for letting me be part of your Kochi experience. Your friendship means a lot — I hope I can welcome you back to Kochi someday. Please keep in touch! Warm regards, Hiroshi M

"Unforgettable Private Tour in Kochi, Japan"
Hiro pick us up at the cruise terminal ship side. We were a group of six and Hiro had arranged a very comfortable van for our group. Mr. I was our driver and he was very courteous. Having grown up in Kochi, Hiro was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He also studied in the US so his English was clear and we enjoyed our conversations with him. Our days itinerary took us to Chikurinji Temple one of the most serene places and a must see to any trip to Kochi. Next Mr. I drove us to Kochi Castle with stunning views. Hiro and Mr. I knew we had a few seniors in our group that had some difficulty walking, so they carefully parked the van close by and make it easier for everyone. Hiro then brought us to a wonderful local food court (Hirome Ichiba) for a variety of delicious Japan food for lunch. We ended our awesome trip of Kochi with a seaside visit to Katsurahama & Ryuogu Shrine. A very picturesque seaside beach and shrine right on the ocean. Great time!
Hiroshi M.: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure guiding you and your group during your visit to Kochi. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of Chikurinji Temple, the stunning views from Kochi Castle, and the delicious local food at Hirome Ichiba. I'm also happy we could make things easier for the senior members of your group — thank you for your kind words about our driver Mr. I as well. Ending the day at Katsurahama & Ryuogu Shrine with that beautiful ocean view was a perfect finale. It means a lot to me that you took the time to share your experience, and I hope you'll return to Kochi again someday! Warm regards, Hiroshi
