Best Tour Plan for Your Time in Port
On most calls, Silver Moon gives you about 8 to 10 hours in Kochi. Here is what I recommend.
If your time in port is on the shorter side
The 4-hour express tour is the safe choice. We visit Kochi Castle, one of only 12 original castles in Japan, and Katsurahama Beach with the famous Sakamoto Ryoma statue. You will also try katsuo tataki, our local seared bonito, if time allows.
If you have a full day
The 6-hour highlights tour is our most popular option. We add the lively Hirome Market, where locals eat and drink together, and a relaxed lunch. The 8-hour version covers everything at an easy pace, or we can go out to the Niyodo River and see the famous “Niyodo Blue”, some of the clearest water in Japan.
Small tip: All aboard time is usually 30 to 60 minutes before departure. I always plan the tour to return you to the terminal well before all aboard time. I have never returned a guest late.

Silver Moon docks at Kochi New Port, and after you walk off the ship and pass through the terminal area, I will be waiting right at the exit, holding a welcome signboard with your name on it.
